What does being healthy mean? Well, you most likely think of working out and eating fruits and veggies when you think about being healthy. One of the less obvious parts of being healthy is your mentality! YOUR MIND MATTERS PEOPLE!! You have to take care of your mind just as much as you have to take care of your body. It's easy to forget to take a few minutes to organize your thoughts but spending 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes before bed to clear your mind can really make all the difference and make your day go more smoothly.
Here's my challenge to you! Put a bottle of water, pen and a little notebook by your bedside. Every morning when you wake up drink your water and write down three things. 1) Something that you're good at 2) Something you need to work on 3) Something that makes you happy. This will get your brain going and give you a foundation for your day. Also, writing has been proven to have serious health benefits and to boost self-esteem. Before bed, reflect on your day! Make sure to make note of anything you did that ties into your three statements you made in the morning.
If your comfortable, share your thoughts!
My Journal from yesterday-
AM- 1) I'm good at choosing my battles. Sometimes I just want to scream when something at work doesn't go quite as planned. I evaluate the situation and usually come to the conclusion that it's a minor problem and I grin and bear it.
2) I need to learn to say NO. I have a hard time saying no when others ask me for things or favors. I need to remember that sometimes I need to put myself first especially when I'm feeling stressed.
3)My wonderful boyfriend's laugh makes me happy! (even when he's laughing at me)
PM- I worked 7-5 today. The kiddos(I'm a nanny) make me laugh! Throwing baby monitors, blow-outs and bath time were highlights of the day. Of course coming home to my family was the true highlight. I love them so much. Sydney's tail-wagging greeting is always heart-warming, even when she brings mud all through the house (grin and bear it :)).
