So my conscious wellness journey began in late high school when my mom was trying to help me decide what to major in in college. I had no idea! I always thought I wanted to be a veterinarian "when I grew up" and then as I GREW UP I realized it wouldn't be all fun and games so I steered away from that path. My mom came up with this idea that I should go for nutrition (it was the first career path idea she had that I didn't immediately throw out). I've always loved food (who doesn't?) and I was pretty good about my eating choices so I decided hey why not?! My actual major ended up being exercise science and I felt a little lost amongst all the "Gym fanatics" on my first day of classes. I started going to the gym 5 days a week to avoid my fear of gaining the freshmen 15. I joined the dance team. The school I chose had an amazing Fresh off the Farm cafeteria program that forced me to eat healthy. I made my way through the first year and felt great! Then the newness wore off and I slowed down a little bit. I stayed on the dance team which instilled commitment in me and I decided to start a wellness internship my junior year. I loved creating challenges and programs to keep the community healthy. I graduated with my Bachelor's and I'm currently working towards my associates in dietetics. So here I am wanting to help everyone feel great about themselves and help them reflect that on the people around them. It's not easy, and everyone has those days where it just feels impossible to make good choices for your health, BUT it's possible! Let me help you make those changes!
